Contemporary Architecture
Contemporary architecture is the architectural design of the modern era. No single design is dominant: contemporary architects are experimenting in many different styles, ranging from abstract, artistic, highly decorative, and highly technical to extremely stylized and minimalist forms and designs, reminiscent of monumental sculpture on a massive scale.
The term "contemporary" itself is not a fixed term. It varies depending on the style of architecture chosen. For instance, modern architecture is often classified as contemporary architecture because the styles it incorporates into its construction are so radically different from those of previous eras, whereas classical architecture can be classified as contemporary architecture simply because it combines elements from different styles into its design.
Some common characteristics of contemporary architecture include the use of geometric and geometrical shapes and structures as the primary elements of the structure. Other elements may include the use of light and shadow, the use of textures, the incorporation of architectural ornamentation, the use of unconventional materials, and the utilization of space. Modernists, who were heavily influenced by Bauhaus architecture, used these structures in their design, whereas conservative practitioners, who tended to favor traditional forms, chose to implement more geometric-based elements and structures.Chick here for more details about Dubai architects
Contemporary architecture is often used in conjunction with other design elements such as lighting, textiles, and furniture. Contemporary architecture often uses highly ornamental elements in the form of artworks, ceramics, and glass-like materials. Such materials are used in their use in architectural structures, as they can make a space appear larger and more spacious. Artworks, such as paintings or sculptures, can also be incorporated into a building, along with textiles, and decorative elements such as furniture or rugs.
Architecture can be traced back to many civilizations around the world. There are archeological and archaeological remains of civilizations that used elaborate architectural techniques. The earliest evidence for architecture dates from around 3000 BCE, in the form of clay tablets excavated from ancient Mesopotamia. The use of architecture is not limited to the early civilizations in terms of size and complexity. A simple structure found at the archaeological site of Ur in ancient Egypt can still be considered to be one of the most important archaeological finds, as it was discovered to have been built around 5000 years ago.
Contemporary architecture has become an integral part of modern architecture. It is not just a decorative design element, but is a significant part of the structure itself.
