Contemporary Architecture

Contemporary architecture is the architectural design of the modern era. No single design is dominant: contemporary architects are experimenting in many different styles, ranging from abstract, artistic, highly decorative, and highly technical to extremely stylized and minimalist forms and designs, reminiscent of monumental sculpture on a massive scale.

The term "contemporary" itself is not a fixed term. It varies depending on the style of architecture chosen. For instance, modern architecture is often classified as contemporary architecture because the styles it incorporates into its construction are so radically different from those of previous eras, whereas classical architecture can be classified as contemporary architecture simply because it combines elements from different styles into its design.
