Ultrasonic level sensor and alarm switch for industrial pressurised emptying of vessels. Some of the most popular uses of ultrasonic level detectors include vessel emptying, tank filling and pumping, fluid leakage detection, vessel cleaning and maintenance, as well as shipboard operations.

Ultrasonic levels have also been used to prevent accidental leaks in pipelines. When valves are closed, it is very important to have accurate sensors in place to detect a leak before the problem is large enough to cause major damage. In some cases, this can be done by using a closed-loop system, where the leak detector emits an ultrasonic pulse, followed by an ultrasound probe that detects the pressure drops after the pulse has reached the end of the pipeline. Other systems use pulsed ultrasound to detect pressure drops in the areas where valves are not used.
