Association football, also known as just soccer or football, is a professional team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. A typical soccer match is played on a hard ground with a goal line of three feet, nine inches, and with ten yards of each side. The offense consists of pressing the opposing team's defense using high-tension tackling and skills, while the defense tries to block the attack using its own bodies. Each team has thirteen players on the field including two goalkeepers. Kickoffs occur in the corners of the 18 yard line. With no extra contact, each team takes a free kick once the ball reaches the opponent's goal line. The game is controlled by the two teams playing in each corner of the field.
