Top Ghanaian Music For 2021/2021

The top Ghana music for this past week included top tracks from the 'Lawrence O'Kane' collection, 'Xpressive', 'Lawrence X' and more. These top tracks have made the top Ghana music during this week at numbers one, two and three respectively. The 'Lawrence O'Kane' collection has comprised some of the highlights of the season so far including 'Lawrence', 'Chikiki', 'Challe', 'Au Goa', 'Slumdog Millionaire' and lots more. If you missed any of these top songs, don't worry, as you can always take a look back at the previous week's top songs to get you in the mood.

This past week's top songs were 'Chikiki', 'Odez' and the salsa version of 'Lawrence O'Kane'. The 'Chikiki' number was performed by Akon which is known for its energetic dancehall tune. However, Akon, along with everyone else, failed to impress on the audience with his top songs. Akon's voice is not suited for dancehall and it doesn't come across well on his latest duet with Rihanna. He also failed to impress with 'Odez' and ended up with a dud that hardly anyone picked up.

Next up is the duet between Rihanna and Akon. Akon starts off the song with a lovely introduction, then raps the song keeping Rihanna on her toes. It is an amazing vocal performance by Akon who also sings admirably. The 'Lawrence O'Kane' song sounds good but it is too generic and has nothing special about it. Instead, it is better left for another day when artists can step in and give a better performance. In fact, the audience loved the songs performed by Akon and Rihanna which included 'Chikiki', 'Odez', 'Hotline' and a few others. Click here for more details about Okese1

Another artist who surprised the audience with his top songs this past week was Samuel Dylan Fassi. His debut album was very well performed and received rave reviews all over the world. His voice suits ghana jazz and is soothing to the ears. He sings about love and his experiences in both the west and Africa. He is a nice singer who can dance easily but is not as talented as those above.

The week ended with Akon performing at the annual Big Bazaar concert in honor of Swahili King Mwai Kibaki. The king was not present but his entourage was. A video was posted on YouTube and a copy of the video can be seen here. Although the video did not show too much of the concert, it is clear from the lighting and background that Akon is in good form. I expect a lot more great things to come out from Akon throughout the season.

Next up are two other Congolese dancehall talents, Patrick Becker and Didier Deshoure. They will also be appearing at the upcoming Africa vs World gala in London. These are some of the best Congolese songs I have heard this season. My pick for the best of the week is probably Akon with Patrick Becker and Didier Deshoure.
